Sr. Usability Engineer
Location: Roseland, NJ or Alpharetta, GA
Description:

Responsibilities:
Designing the user interface for web applications including task flows and screen layouts, ensuring usability and consistent end user experience for multiple projects.
Applying user-centered design (UCD) methodologies to resolve complex business requirement.
Creating storyboards, building prototypes, writing specifications.
Developing and applying UI standards.
Working in multidisciplinary environments in a collaborative fashion on the UI Design to translate and support the development of the application UI as defined by the specification and constraints.
Communicating with technical and non-technical staff to ensure full integration of UCD activities in the product development process.
Participates in the development of schedules by providing estimates regarding individual UI design tasks.
Investigate and evaluate UI trends in the industry and communicate implementation recommendations to enhance the UCD process, incorporating new ideas, and recommending new methodologies and tools.
Education / Experience:
Four-year college degree in Interaction Design, Human Factors, Usability Engineering, Industrial Design, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science or related discipline preferred.
A typical candidate will have at least five years of experience working in usability and user interface design within a software development environment.
Must be proficient in user interface design for software applications applying user-centered design methodologies.
Experience in web application design, form layout and defining UI standards for layout and behavior a plus.
Strong project management and communication skills.
Technical Skills:
Working knowledge in HTML, DHTML, Javascript, Rich Internet Applications, AJAX, JSP, Applets. Programming knowledge is highly desirable.
Experience with Macromedia MX Studio (Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Flash), Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) and Visio.
