JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide front line technical support for enterprise web applications
Provide remote support to all internal and external customers using telephone and network resources.
Use trouble ticketing system for documenting support details and for managing support follow up.
Notify and work with product engineers to resolve application problems or system outages.
Effectively communicate details of problems to internal and external customers.
Participate in Trouble Report Meetings and provide current ticket status and assigned Trouble Reports.
Perform on-call duties to support system administration during off-hours.
Review, edit and create technical documentation as needed.
Perform system administration duties
Optimize and maintain web application servers
Design and execute system test plans
Assist in developing Java code for N-tier Java-based web applications
Assist in design of new functional components
Requirements:
The candidate must have excellent customer interface skills, good written and verbal skills
Must have a strong work ethic with the initiative and ability to work in a team environment
Prior experience working in a help desk environment a bonus
Candidate should have a good working knowledge of Linux (Redhat preferred), including shell scripting (sh/ksh/Perl/Python)
Experience with HTML, JavaScript, Java, SQL, JDBC, XML and Apache Tomcat also a bonus
Education Required
BS in Information Management, Computer Science or related field
